Services

Bookkeeping services in Winnipeg, built around one question: what do your numbers mean?

Two engagement levels. Both monthly retainers. Both delivered by Steve Paschak, CPA, MBA. No juniors, no hand-offs, no hourly billing.

Tier 1

Full-charge bookkeeping

This is not a data entry service. It is bookkeeping done personally by a CPA who has operated at the controller level. Every transaction is recorded and reconciled by the same experienced set of eyes, every month.

What is included

  • Month-end close, done on time, every month
  • Bank and credit card reconciliation
  • GST/HST filing
  • Monthly trial balance and management reports
  • Hubdoc receipt management, so documents take seconds, not weekends
  • Payworks payroll administration, if you run payroll on Payworks

Built for sole proprietors, trades contractors, professional services firms, clinics, and not-for-profits.

Tier 2

Fractional controller

Everything in bookkeeping, plus the financial leadership of a controller without the full-time salary. This is the engagement for a business owner who wants to understand the numbers well enough to actually run the business with them.

Everything in Tier 1, plus

  • Monthly management reporting package
  • KPI dashboard tuned to the drivers of your business
  • Budget versus actual analysis
  • Cash flow reporting, so surprises stop being surprises
  • Advisory availability when decisions come up between reports

Built for established trades businesses, medical and clinical practices, and professional services firms with staff.

Also available

Setup and cleanup

Software setup

QuickBooks Online, Payworks, and Xero set up properly from day one, or migrated cleanly from whatever you have now.

Books cleanup

Behind by months, or inherited a mess? Books get caught up, reconciled, and restructured so the monthly engagement starts from solid ground.

Payroll administration

Payroll run reliably through Payworks, bundled into both engagement tiers. Staff get paid correctly and on time, and remittances do not get missed.

What Advantage Books does not do

No tax returns, personal or corporate. No financial statement preparation or compilation, no review engagements, no audit work. No tax planning or tax advice. The deliverables here are your trial balance and management reports, drawn from your own accounting system. Where financial statements are required, they come from your CPA firm; Steve works alongside yours, or can refer you to one. The division of labour is clean: Advantage Books keeps controller-grade books all year, and your CPA firm handles tax and statements. Honest scope makes for better results on both sides.
